Screed of Momus has just learned that the Omaha Conservatory of Music had its website registration and online payment systems hacked tonight, and Director of Marketing and Development Nancy Nogg is reporting that the alarm system at her house was hacked as well. Nancy Nogg is, as those of you have read our coverage of Progressive PST know, Neal Rauhauser's ex-wife.
While it is not yet clear who was responsible, what is known is this: Neal Rauhauser is a self-professed "old hacker" who is believed to be responsible for earlier hacking efforts on Nancy's personal computer. Since Neal's own words indicate his involvement in the illegal access of computers and networks, it is reasonable to suspect his involvement in these latest hacks, given that the conservatory where his ex-wife works and his daughter studies music was the target, along with his ex-wife's house.
With over $33,000 in delinquent child support to answer for, it is unclear why Neal Rauhauser would risk adding two federal crimes to the litany of sins he will have to answer for when he is apprehended by the State of Nebraska for child support. That is, if Neal is the responsible party for these incidents.
Screed of Momus will continue to cover this story as more information becomes available.

This is just despicable. The tampering with the alarm system is clearly designed to make her fear for her security. Step 1 is to get a system that does not connect to the Internet in any way and to have the system vendor explain how such a thing could happen in the first place.
ReplyDeleteThe tampering with her employer's website is also despicable. These people are simply pieces of crap. This isn't about politics. This is wrong at a very basic human level. There is the sort of thing people expect to see in third-world authoritarian regimes. If investigations into this stuff is hampered in any way by political entities then the political entities involved should be pointed out as accessories to these sorts of acts and be held responsible for their protection, encouragement, simply looking the other way, whatever. But it would seem that people who are engaged in this sort of behavior have been or are also "activists" for a particular political agenda and this would apparently be an example of what that political agenda stands for.
How any decent, normal human being can align with these animals is beyond me.
Sorry about my incoherent grammar in some places there, but this is just beyond the pale of civilized human conduct and I was a bit upset.
ReplyDeleteThe relevant people have been notified, and the best thing is that Nancy now has an abundance of upgrades to her security system designed to eliminate this problem in the future. Her security company upgraded her free of charge after hearing who her ex-husband was. God takes care of these things, and the people who suffer from them. Justice is coming to Neal Rauhauser in time.
